Yes. If you already have a supervisor you value, you can bring them with you to Supriva and carry on exactly as you are. You both keep your relationship, your rhythm, and Supriva takes care of the booking, payment and record of hours for you.

Why practitioners bring their supervisor

A long supervision relationship is precious. Your supervisor knows your caseload, your strengths and the places you are still growing, and that history makes every session richer. Supriva is built to support those relationships as much as it is to help people find a new supervisor.

How it works

If your supervisor isn’t on Supriva yet, you invite them from your dashboard, and they set up their profile and availability. From then on, you book your sessions with them through Supriva, and each one is added to your supervision record. Your supervisor sees their sessions, earnings and supervisees in one place, without chasing invoices.

Will their sessions count?

Your supervisor needs to be someone your association accepts, which most established supervisors already are. As a quick guide:

Association Who can supervise you
ACA An ACA Registered Supervisor, or a Recognised Supervisor who meets ACA’s criteria, as set out in the Supervision Policy
PACFA A supervisor with competencies equivalent to PACFA’s Supervision Training Standards who is a PACFA clinical registrant, or registered with a relevant body such as AAFT, AASW, ACA Level 3 or 4, APS or AAPi, under the Clinical Supervision Standard
AASW A qualified social worker is preferred, ideally with the Accredited Supervisor credential and at least 2 years of relevant post-qualification experience. AASW also accepts a supervisor from another profession, such as a counsellor, psychotherapist or psychologist, where that suits your practice and the reason is documented, and group and peer supervision can be multidisciplinary. Sources: AASW Supervision Standards and AASW’s Record/Evidence of Supervision template.

When your supervisor joins, our team checks their registration, so you both know the hours will be recorded against the right rules.

What if I see more than one supervisor?

That is common, and welcome. You might see one supervisor individually and join another’s group. Each can be on Supriva, and all your sessions build up in the one record.
